LEADING SWEDISH CONFERENCE TELEPHONE MANUFACTURER, KONFTEL AB,  LAUNCHES THE WORLD'S FIRST CONFERENCE TELEPHONE

FOR EXISTING DECT SYSTEMS.

Businesses are now able to conduct audio conferences wirelessly by connecting

the Konftel 200W to their DECT system.

Singapore, 19 April 2006 - Swedish Konftel AB is now launching its Konftel 200W, the first conference telephone on the market for wireless connectivity to PBXs with existing DECT/GAP systems from Ericsson, Alcatel, Nortel, Ascom, Philips, etc.

“We have completed functionality testing now which means that we can release the Konftel 200W onto the world market. There has been tremendous demand for this product since it was first demonstrated at the CeBIT trade fair this spring,” states Product Manager, Clarence Jacobson. Last year alone, some 2.5 million telephones were sold in the 110 countries that use DECT systems according to the industry association, the DECT Forum.

“It is extremely common that companies, particularly in Europe, have large DECT systems. Moreover, DECT technology is well tried and tested and provides excellent sound quality at a good price,” says Konftel's MD, Peter Renkel.

It is Konftel's goal to be able to offer conference telephones for all situations and they are currently the only company able to offer one for existing DECT systems. Since the Konftel 200W conference phone connects wirelessly to the DECT system, fixed phone line sockets are not required. For offices that do not have a DECT system but want to enjoy the benefits of wireless connectivity, Konftel can supply them with a base station that connects easily to an analogue output.

The Konftel 200W incorporates Konftel’s sound technology, OmniSound®, which gives a crystal-clear sound throughout the room. OmniSound features full duplex, which provides natural, two-way communication without irritating sound clipping, echoes or damping. The Konftel 200W has been developed for use in smaller and medium-sized conference rooms. Extension microphones can be connected to increase coverage to 70 square metres in larger meeting rooms.

The Konftel 200W is now available in Singapore from distributor Orange Communications Pte Ltd. The Singapore distributor is packaging the Konftel 200W with a DECT phone from U.S.A brand Ghertz, and is retailing the package for $1,188.00.
