WIRELESS
AUDIO CONFERENCES - Konftel
60W Audio Conference Unit uses Bluetooth®
technology to connect wirelessly to computers, mobile phones and system
telephones, transforming these into unparalleled conference telephones.
Singapore,
February 18, 2005 – Orange Communications Pte Ltd, the distributors
for Sweden’s Konftel Audio Conferencing Systems, launches the
market's first conference telephone with
Bluetooth®,
in Singapore. The Konftel
60W is adapted for system telephones, mobile telephones, IP telephones
and computers. Extra microphones are available for the Konftel 60W to
achieve a range of up to 70 square meters. This is a new and versatile
tool for the wireless office, making it even easier to hold spontaneous
telephone meetings.
The
Konftel 60W is the first conference telephone on the market and features
built-in Bluetooth®
technology. This means that it can be connected to all telephone and
computer equipment with Bluetooth®.
One of the advantages of Bluetooth®
is the fact that it is wireless. The Konftel 60W does not need its own
telephone line, which means no additional expense for a telephone
subscription and extra connections.
"The
current trend is towards wireless alternatives for companies, not only
to avoid cables but also to make employees' communication more mobile
and flexible," says Peter Renkel, managing director of Konftel
Technology. "This new product is an important tool for the wireless
office."
The
Konftel 60W can be shared by several Bluetooth®
users since it can store up to eight units. When the phone rings, the
user can choose to answer the ordinary telephone or the conference
telephone. The Konftel 60W is even compatible with several features
offered by connected telephones. These include three-party calls, hold,
voice-activated calls and redialling the latest number. The Konftel 60W
can also communicate with computers via IP Softphone software, such as
Skype.com, Alcatel IP Softphone and MSN Messenger. The Konftel 60W is
ideal for IP telephony and Web meetings using loudspeakers. The unit can be
adapted to big and small meeting rooms with extra microphones, from a
range of 30 m2
to 70 m2.
A
versatile tool
Cables
are included for system telephones and computers lacking Bluetooth®.
Cables for connection to mobile and DECT telephones are available as
accessories. The Konftel 60W is easily portable and switching between
users is a snap. It can even be used for units connected with Bluetooth®
when simultaneously connected with cables to another unit.
The
advantage of using your mobile for telephone meetings is that it is
usually handy and stores your personal address book with important phone
numbers. You are even accessible on your own mobile telephone number.
The
Konftel 60W will be available through selected retailers in March 2005.
The
recommended
retail price is $888, and includes a two-year guarantee.
