PALM-SIZED
DEVICE REPLACES NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS FOR PRESENTATIONS
Mobile
presenter hooks up directly to a projector or TV screen to present
PowerPoint,
Word, Excel, Adobe PDF and image files
Singapore, 21 November
2005
– Procare International Pte Ltd, a global manufacturer of consumer products,
and Orange Communications, a local distributor of innovative consumer
electronics, jointly announced the availability of the eFlash mobile presenter
in Singapore. The device is the first of its kind in the market and it is set to
revolutionalize presentations in meeting rooms.
The eFlash is a
pocket-sized device weighing under 200 grams and operating on batteries. It
stores thousands of Microsoft Office documents for professional presentations,
effectively replacing the role of the notebook computer.
Through conventional video connectors, the portable device connects to
virtually any projector or TV screen in the market and includes a remote control
for conducting presentations up to 30 feet from the projector.
The remote comes with a built-in laser pointer and buttons that control
zooming and panning. Auto play mode
is a boon for hands free window advertising.
Jean Lee, Managing
Director of Procare says, “Customers are enthusiastic about deploying the
eFlash to the business as well as the educational market where clear and
frequent communication is vital. The
eFlash is an obvious replacement for the notebook computer both for its
simplicity of use and price. Also,
its slim design and stability makes the eFlash indispensible in professional
presentations. The eFlash is a
dedicated presentation device, therefore little can go wrong during a
presentation. I definitely don’t want to challenge Murphy’s Law in the
serious presentations. eFlash is entirely solid-state and has no moving parts to
break on the road.”
Procare has appointed
Orange Communications as its distributor in Singapore.
Mr Harris Tay, Managing
Director of Orange Communications Pte Ltd says, “I am certain that eFlash will
be a hit in Singapore. It is so simple to use – you don’t need to be
computer savy to use the eFlash, unlike with a notebook. No risk of software
clashes, hard disks crashing or any of the other problems associated with using
a computer. You can go to your presentation with the confidence that it’s all
going to work. On top of that, the eFlash is so light and handy. No more lugging
your heavy notebooks around.”
eFlash will be retailed
at $258, and will be available from 24 November 2005 from selected electronic
departmental stores and reputable IT resellers.
Orange Communications
will be exhibiting the eFlash EF-3069 at SITEX 2005 (24 – 27 November 2005)
held at Singapore Expo, under a joint-promotion scheme with IT reseller, CHAMOXA
OFFICE AUTOMATION (S) PTE LTD. Visit them at Booth 5A51/5N01 to receive a free
128MB SD Card with purchase of every unit of the eFlash.
